If The Trousers Fit

Christabelle Adeline (she/her) is a writer based in Jakarta, Indonesia. She is interested in personal narratives as a tool for both self- and social-inquiry, as reflected in her first zine Some Type of Love (2023) and her semi-weekly newsletter project Average Consumer, where she captures the textures of Jakarta's cultural moments.

In her second zine, If the Trousers Fit, she turns to clothing as a language of selfhood. Through reflections on fit and desire, she explores fashion as a way of thinking about body, identity, and the lives we grow into - idea she wouldn't have arrived at without the sewing classes she took during the pandemic. In many ways, it changed her life.
