Author Event with Yi Zhou (Yellow Gold)

Lit Books is pleased to welcome Yi Zhou (弋舟), an award winning and critically acclaimed writer, to Lit Books to talk about Yellow Gold (黄金), an anthology of short stories translated into English in 2025. The anthology contains a collection of his best known works, including The Callout (出警), which won the 7th Lu Xun Literary Prize for Short Stories. Praised for its gritty, emotionally resonant realism and empathetic depiction of mutual dependence among society's most vulnerable people, Yi Zhou has received significant domestic critical praise for his prose and shart observation. In conversation with him is Tay Cher Siang, acclaimed jazz pianist whose musical prowess outshines his equally impressive literary credentials. Also present will be Pauline Puah who will be providing translation of the conversation into English.
