Chilean Poet

In Santiago, Chile, in the early nineties of the last century, two teenagers, Gonzalo and Carla, explore life and desire, and have their first sexual relations, marked by exploratory clumsiness. He dreams of being a poet and, when she breaks off the relationship, he sends her by mail a succession of brief love poems in which he expresses his desperation and begins to search for his literary voice. The story could have ended there, as a mere adolescent initiation adventure, but, nine years later, Gonzalo and Carla meet in a gay bar and an unrestrained reunion takes place in the bathrooms that ends with both their underwear disappearing down the toilet. They resume the relationship and soon Gonzalo discovers that she has had a son, Vicente, of whom he will become a stepfather for a time...
